The AG Rock Band 3 DLC Jamboree - 21st February, 2011
Feature from Nat - Tuesday, 22 February 2011 @ 8:00am
This weekly article will serve as a guide for what DLC is appearing on the various digital Rock Band stores this week in history. With a veritable bevy of usually quite decent content appearing every week, hopefully this article can serve as somewhat of a guide for what to look out for and what to avoid like the clappers.
Rock Band 3:
After last weeks Valentines Day based lovefest, it's good to get a little bit of normality back into the DLC schedule. This week sees the arrival of five tracks from one of my favourite female rock vocalists of all time, Pat Benetar. With Heartbreaker and Hit Me With Your Best Shot already available as DLC, it looks like my library of Benatar-y goodness might be about to grow once again.
Pat Benatar Pack 01 - 800 MSP
Fire and Ice
Love is a Battlefield
Shadows of the Night
We Belong (Pro)
Invincible
Promises in the Dark
If it were possible to pre-order DLC, I would have ordered Love is a Battlefield a dozen times already. Something about her angsty, teen-styled vocals pierces my cold, country-boy heart.
Rock Band Network:
Once again, it's been a crazy week for Rock Band Network tracks. With over 40 new tracks coming to the network every week, it looks like Harmonix might have nutted this DLC thing out fairly well. Maybe it's just me, but I'd be extremely interested to see the numbers on exactly how many purchases are made on the network each and every week. I wonder how much these bands are getting in return for putting their tracks up. Food for thought. Anyhow, here are the tracks that hit the Network last week:
Action Action - The Ones Who Get It
After the Burial - Berzerker
After the Burial - Cursing Akhenaten
Analogue Revolution feat. Byan Steele - I Can't Explain It
Analogue Revolution feat. Byan Steele - R U Ready For This
Analogue Revolution feat. Wendy Drown - Leap of Faith
The B.O.L.T. - Everyone's the Same
The B.O.L.T. - Homeless
The B.O.L.T. - Nothing Ever Comes
The Break Down - Peace of Mind
Bright Midnight - The Stranger
BulletProof Messenger - Lose It All
BulletProof Messenger - This Fantasy
C&O - Here Comes Tomorrow
Calous - I Cannibal
The Cold Goodnight - Cool As the Other Side of the Pillow
DoubleShot - Creative Warrior
DoubleShot - What's a Man to Do?
Evan Olson - Life is a Roller Coaster
Fallen Angel - Dark Lord
The Fetals - Afflicted
Gabriel and the Apocalypse - Hey You
God in a Machine - You Don't Know Me
Hedras Ramos - Insanity of the Atoms
Hip Kitty - Other Personality
Jenium - Close to Home
Kiev - Opening in G
The Lightfighters - Railway Station
Midnight Sun - Fight
Minnesota Sex Junkies - Fly On the Wall
Minnesota Sex Junkies - Hate Myself
Minnesota Sex Junkies - I Want It Back
Minnesota Sex Junkies - Like This
Moving Atlas - Becoming Blue
Nightrage - Collision of Fate
Nightrage - Wearing a Martyr's Crown
Severed - My Warning
Severed - The Ultimate Power
Something Opus - The Girl Next Door
Stereoside - Trailer Park Scum
Stop the World - Enemy
Super Gravity - Freeze Frame
Twin Atlantic - What is Light? Where is Laughter?
Warpath - Damnation
Remember once again that these are for US account holders only, but every good 360 owner should have a spare US Xbox Live Free account floating around.
In a related piece of news, it looks like the proper, hard-as-nails, fully stringed guitar is closer to release than previously expected. Pre-orders are now available via the RockBand.com website for the grand total price of $279. Keep in mind there's still no date of release and its only available for pre-order through Best Buy at the moment, but after Harmonix's split from Viacom and the demise of Guitar Hero, I'm just glad that any news on the peripheral is getting out.
So, intrepid reader - what tickles your fancy? Up for a little bit of Pat Benatar lovin'?
